Gestures and sign language
-
Play sounds
-
Visuals

New words
Children need consistency and repetition to learn new skills, so parental involvement is key to great progress.

Language Therapy
We help children develop and practice language skills in a variety of play-based and focused activities. Sessions build essential skills such as:
-
Answering questions
-
Following directions
-
Telling stories
-
Combining words into complete sentences
-
Increasing vocabulary
-
Overall ability to express wants and needs
Language therapy can improve a child’s comprehension, expression, and overall academic success in school.

Social Skills/Pragmatics
Social skills is a term that refers to a child’s ability to use language in order to interact with others. When social language is impaired, the child struggles to understand social rules, use correct body language and have empathy to understand the world from someone else’s point of view. Treatment strategies focus on increasing active engagement and building independence. Group sessions are often recommended to practice skills in a functional communication setting and to promote generalization.

Speech Therapy
We help children effectively communicate by addressing speech sound production for challenging sounds and sound combinations. We will target common words that apply to their everyday life. Our evidence-based approaches improve:
-
Overall speech clarity
-
Accuracy of sound production
-
Muscle coordination and strength for speech
-
Rate and rhythm of speech
Speech therapy incorporates fun, child-led activities to keep your child interested and engaged.

Childhood Apraxia of Speech
Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS) is a motor speech disorder in which the child has difficulties connecting sounds and syllables into longer words as well as a presence of disturbance with rate and intonation. Depending on the severity, sessions will target the following:
-
Prosody (intonation, rate, rhythm)
-
Motor planning
-
Speech Intelligibility
Immediate treatment is highly recommended for a child with moderate to severe CAS since it can take some time to improve those skills.

Parent Coaching
We help caregivers learn and practice the techniques that we use within our sessions. This allows families to confidently support their child’s speech and language development at home, in-between therapy sessions! Parent coaching focuses on:
-
Building language through play
-
Using communication strategies in daily routines
We provide parents with resources for home practice, as well as access to their child’s online progress notes and reports.
